Canine Good Citizen Class & Testing!

October 3rd through October 31st, 2015


Canine Good Citizen (CGC) is a dog certification program that was created by the American Kennel Club.  CGC Program is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The CGC is the first step toward Therapy Dog Certification.  The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club along with a ribbon and patch!


Items on the Canine Good Citizen Test include:

           Accepting a friendly stranger

           Sitting politely for petting

           Appearance and Grooming

           Walking on a loose lead

           Walking through a crowd

           Sit and down on Command and staying on command

           Coming when called

           Calm reactions around other dogs

           Calm reactions around distractions

           Supervised Separation


Class Begins:  Saturday, October 3rd , 2015. at 10:00 a.m.

Location:  Elaine’s Pet Resort:  40373 Brickyard Dr. Madera CA 93636 (Across from Valley Children’s Hospital)

Class runs every Saturday at 10:00 a.m. (1 hour) for 4 weeks.  CGC Test will be conducted on Saturday, October 31st at 10:00 a.m.
